Last night, as the preview for Sense and Sensibility on Masterpiece Theater was showing, I got choked up like I haven't done since I watched TLC daytime. What was that about? I was excited, however. This version is darker, slightly more dramatic than the '95 version, but I still liked it. Can't wait to see the rest next week, though I do prefer Alan Rickman as Colonel Brandon. What is with the freaky curls plastered to Fanny's forehead, and in both versions??? Was her "son" played by a male or a female actor? To those of you who read the book, wasn't Sir John Middleton's wife as obnoxious in it as himself and his mother-in-law? She just sits there in the movie, with 5 children I also can't remember.

I read Northanger Abbey last week, and am onto Mansfield Park now. I cannot believe how women were treated back then! More thoughts on that later, but for now, dude, you treat Fanny (Mansfield Park) like crap then expect her to not have self-esteem issues? Similar issues with Jane Eyre, though different author.

Amazon shipped my DVDs of NA and MP today, so yay.

I missed Emma on Easter Sunday, so I'll rent that eventually. For a brief moment I thought about not watching S&S but then came to my senses, ha ha ha. The very first scene, I was like, who is that, then caught on.

The curls! Ack, those women spent too much time on their hair!

I should upload some more S&S icons.
