These questions were written by [livejournal.com profile] archersangel.

1. What is the first TV show you remember watching?
Not 100% certain, but I think Scooby Doo. ETA: after reading some other responses, I was reminded of Sesame Street.

2. What is the first “grown up” TV show you watched?
Probably soap operas because my mom was watching. As the World Turns and Guiding Light.

3. What is the first TV show you watched from the start to finish when it aired live (i.e., not via reruns)?
LOST, which may also be the only show I've watched entirely.

4. What is the oldest TV show you’ve watched?
We caught an old episode of Doctor Who while in England. Couldn't tell you which episode, or even which Doctor it was. ETA: I Love Lucy

5. What is one TV show you will stop and watch if you come across it on TV, even though you've seen every episode at least 20 times?
Friends

I dream about it every so often. Usually about chicken mcnuggets. Yet, I won't go. I think my willpower is weakening.

Last night I started watching Howards End on PBS. I was quite intrigued, and didn't even need to get my phone from the kitchen. It's also on Amazon, and Natalie told me recently I should watch it. I might watch the rest before PBS shows it. Afterwards, I tried watching Sanditon, but I just wasn't feeling it.

I have not started studying for AINS 22 yet. It was on my to-do list for today, and then I decided to work on my decade recap. I feel like my decade is boring, and sadly lacking in the relationship department, but it'll get posted eventually. I also have 4 loads of laundry on my bed that need to be put away.

Over the weekend I helped Heidi move, and only have 2 small bruises to show for it! Logged few miles in walking and many flights of stairs. It felt good after my sit-down job all the time. Speaking of work, my manager has left and I'm temporarily back with Lisa, my first manager. They also rearranged a bunch of people. The 3 who got promoted got quite literally put alone in a corner, which makes me very much sad. Sure, they leave in a month, but they didn't have to get moved AWAY from the rest of us. I was out on Friday, when pretty much everyone else on my team is off anyway, so I didn't have to be lonely that day. The next team moved a row over so I have people near me, who I talk at as if I'd known them forever. Ha. Hope I'm not annoying anyone.

Now for some memeage.

late Friday Five: words
1. How much slang do you use?
Not much...? I know I use some, but I can't even think of any off the top of my head. Is 'lol' slang?

2. What are your favorite words?
plethora, qualms, frick (one of these things is not like the others!)

3. How much do you curse?
Far more as an adult than I'd ever dare to as a kid, and yet, still not that much. I use it sparingly and when appropriate, you could say. When I was teaching, I swore A LOT in my head. It's a good thing I didn't have the habit of swearing all my life, as I'm sure I would have let a word or 3 slip out audibly in the classroom, which I'd never be able to live down.

4. What makes a great conversation?
Interesting topics where all participants can keep up and contribute. Also when catching up with friends I haven't seen in ages.

5. How often do you have "deep discussions?"
Not as often as I'd like, because I'm usually too chicken to start them. I used to complain a lot about teaching to my other teacher friends, which involved a lot of analysis of why everything sucked so much.

On this trip, I have:
baked brownies and strawberry cake
saw cousins I have not seen in many years
watched all 14 episodes of The Office U.K. (infinitely more Martin Freeman love now)
camped in Yosemite (but still haven't seen any bears)
NOT been to Target (gasp!)
only been to Peet's twice; 3 times if you count the Peet's/ice cream place in Yosemite
finished the book Emma and Knightly
Eaten dinner at Max's (yum) and Luna Loca (Mom likes it, I think it's ok)

Tonight, I ate pie and watched SYTYCD. Lots of good dancers this season.

Tomorrow, I will see Allison in Santa Rosa. Friday I will see some Sac friends.

Need to upload pictures from my camera, but it's 11pm. Later, later.

[livejournal.com profile] ewanspotter was (hopefully) entertained by my frequent texts as I watched the season finale of Sherlock. If you haven't already, you should watch the show. Both seasons have only 3 episodes, and you can watch S2 online through June 19th. S2 makes more sense if you've seen S1, but you may still be entertained if you can't access it. Also, having seen the 2 Sherlock Homes movies with Robert Downey Jr. helps, but isn't necessary.
