Today marks a year since I left my job at Starbucks.  My last day there was kind of anticlimactic, kind of like today actually.  It wasn't until I was sitting at my local Bux this afternoon, thinking about if I'd ever work there again, when I realized it was the anniversary.  Reading [personal profile] baristas posts alternately makes me happy and sad that I don't work there anymore.  I could really use discount because there's 2 mugs I'm dying to buy.  Must have the spring green Aroma tumbler!

I'll be getting about $1000 extra from coaching cheer and teaching intersession, so I'm spending a good chunk of that on furniture.  I'm currently drooling over this at potterybarn.com.  Heck, I'm drooling over a lot of things.  If I had the money and the room for it, I'd also be getting this bed.  I've dreamed about a bed like this for years.

Ok, back to drooling.  Must check crateandbarrel.com as well.

I love that bed! Nice! And the nightstand, too.

It's been about 10 months since I quit Starbucks. I feel the way you do: sometimes I miss it, and sometimes I am sooooo glad not to be there anymore. I was reading a few posts today and felt pretty bad for some of those folks. I think Starbucks isn't the right job for a perfectionist/someone who works harder than everyone else. That's part of the reason I quit.

Went in today for my CDL...There were two horrible children running around, throwing stirrers everywhere, splashing chocolate milk on the floor. I guess the children weren't horrible. The mother was. She actually went to the counter and asked them to cut up a piece of coffee cake so her kids could "have some samples"!

I was at AZ Mills with my friend and her husband on Friday, and every time we saw screaming kids, I'd look at them and laugh. I don't know why I don't think of them when I see good kids.

You know who else shouldn't work at Starbucks? People who fight the piercings policy. Dude, they lay out the policy from the start, so don't get mad when you go get a nose ring and they make you cover it up. Gee, they are so horrible for enforcing the rule that you decided to break! I was just reminded of this issue from a recent post.

OOOooo that bed is BEAUTIFUL!! I'd probably feel the same if I left Sbux. I have considered it a few times (either because the pay is too low or because I sometimes feel unappreciated) ... but in a lot of ways, there are many benefits to working there (especially for a student job where flexibility is a MUST and discounts for caffeinated beverages mean a whole lot!)

Cheer coach - wow!

Sbux was great for me, working around my school/student teaching schedule. It was when I had open availablilty that I started getting shafted on hours. Still, I worked there 3.5 years. I love my caffeinated goodness!

I miss Starbucks in Dubai now.
:''(

I didn't realise it.
But a year since you left Starbucks.
I remember when you posted you were quitting.

Wow! I've known you a year?
Time sure flies.

I should calculate when I first new certain people in my f-list actually.
But then again, you knew me way back when I was using either [livejournal.com profile] tenderheart281 or [livejournal.com profile] annemckenzie.
