1. How are you feeling today?
Pretty good. I had the tickly cough several times at work, but sips of water helped that.

2. Have you gone to one of those emergency/urgent care walk-in clinics?
yes

3. What symptoms made you go there?
Once several years ago when my right rotator cuff (at least I think it was that) was inflamed and hurt so badly I couldn't raise my arm. I went to an urgent care that prescribed a course of steroids. It started feeling better the next day.
About 3 years ago, I went after I'd been sick on and off for about 2 months with various ailments. I'd had some sort of flu with a bad cough during parent teacher conference week (that was fun) but felt better by the weekend. That Saturday, I went to the Renaissance Fair with Natalie. I woke up Sunday feeling like absolute crap with a sore throat and fever. Natalie convinced me to go to the clinic in the grocery store. So I did, where I had no fever because of the Advil I'd taken, and tested negative for strep. I thought the clinic thought I was a hypochondriac. I spent Monday feeling even worse - bad fever, the worst body aches I'd ever had, and coughing. Tuesday, I went to a different urgent care. They took pity on me and even did chest x-rays because she heard a faint rattle. Those were clear, as was the flu swab (ACK I hope I never need that again), but surprise! I tested postive for strep throat. So away I went with antibiotics and cough medicine.

4. Does it make you feel better to have the doctor translate your symptoms into a medical-sounding diagnosis (e.g., really bad cough = bronchitis)?
Well, considering the only diagnosis I've had was strep throat, I guess I was happy to know what I had (that time) and get something for it.

5. What is the worst tasting medicine you have ever had?
Most cough medicines are bad. I got some generic Safeway brand stuff that was so sickly sweet as well as medicinal, I couldn't drink a whole dose. Diluting it with water didn't help. The only other time I had strep throat at age 9, I had liquid amoxicillin because I had not yet learned to swallow pills. Everyone ooohed and ahhed and said it smelled like bubble gum, but it tasted horrible. I had to take something like 4tbsp each dose too.

My son actually liked the taste of Amoxicillin, can you believe it? It probably seemed like such an immense amount because you hated it.
