My new dress has a rear in it. The fabric tore near the seam that goes around my thighs. I might have torn it, who knows. I could try to sew it, but either the fabric will just fray more, or it will look odd just that bit. Trying to think of a way to reinforce it on the back side. The tear isn't super obvious, but now I'm afraid of more damage. The raw edge on the inside of the V-neck seam is also fraying. Sigh. Glad I didn't pay full price for this dress.

Car is at the dealership overnight. So, Jiffy Lube wasn't lying about the brake pads. However, they may have put the wrong oil in?? The Mazda tech said it should have X oil but the sticker said Y. I get the same type of oil each time, so if they really did put the wrong kind in, huh? Or whatever he said about the sticker? Also, Jiffy Lube put the cabin air filter in backwards. Just, what? I need to find the invoice but I don't think they changed the filter this last time. So, with new brake pads, working on the front rotors (I guess the rear ones got done 8 months ago), and whatever other maintenance work I okayed, $530. I trust the dealership more than I trust Jiffy Lube, and I was pretty trusting of the one I've been going to. The Mazda tech said the brake work is pretty typical for the 66K miles it has. Yet, I don't know if I want to keep going to the dealership, or find a mechanic with a good reputation. Then, do I just go when I suspect an issue, or the regular, recommended work?

I got a 3 for a loaner, which is smaller than my 6. I kind of miss having a smaller car! Funny thing is when I had a CX-9 last time, I loved being higher, but it was shorter in length than the 6. Not that I'm trading in my car. It's not even paid off. That doesn't stop the dealership from sending me flyers about upgrades/trade-ins.

Saw this Iron Man Hyundai Kona advertised. Right up my alley. I <3 Iron Man.

Changed the AC filter at home finally. Go me.

I've had the best luck, in these cases, with an iron-on patch applied to the back after carefully aligning the edges and any fringe, making sure the garment is clean and following the ironing directions carefully. They make these out of lightweight fabric as well as denim - hard to find, but not on the ol internet!

Seconding the iron-on thing! Have you had a chance to try it out yet?

I wore one of my grandma's old dresses for my graduation, and it inexplicably had both sleeves nearly slashed clean off. No idea. We lined up the edges and ironed on the little thingy, and it was honestly almost impossible to tell where the damage had been. We forgot to take photos because it was kinda like "let's just test this tiny part" and it was so easy that we ended up doing the whole thing without stopping to document it.

I tried to send that before and it didn't go. Sorry if it ends up being twice!

I've worn and washed it, so they wouldn't take it back. Also, it's from Gap, which has gone down in quality over the years. Well, most of the stores I used to like have done that.

I'm sorry your new dress has a tear. :-( Full price or not, that doesn't seem reasonable that it's torn and fraying already.

It's hard to find good mechanics. The guys I work with told me about a guy that I go to now, he's great so I take my car to him. I hate the dealership mainly because they seem to charge three times what anyone else does.

They at least fixed the 2 tires that had nails in them (probably from the gravel parking lot at the Ren Fair in March) for free.

I need to ask around on FB for a good local mechanic.

I'm bummed with clothes falling apart. We've had a *lot* of hems come unserged. Probably close to half the kids' clothes lose a hem before they rip out a knee or outgrow them or something. I don't understand why. And it happens to mine too. Annoying, but I guess that's what you get from Bangladeshi sweatshops.

We're somewhere in the middle of going in for issues/regular work lol. Usually when we get an oil change, we have whatever work is usually done around that time, mileage wise. So last time we had air filters and shit replaced because it was already there lol
