I watched Jane Eyre 2011 last night and tonight. This adaptation has its weaknesses, but it works in a pinch when I need some Rochester in my life. It's made me want to read the book again.
Rochester is too pretty in this one. I wonder if he grew his hair out or if they put him in a wig. The way he delivers some lines is almost laughable, but others have me swooning. The same could be said of some of Jane's dialogue. Put more feeling into it, actors! It's as if they, and the director, needed to study the book better. Also, add in a couple of the deleted scenes so the plot makes more sense. Add some footage so the love story itself doesn't seem to come out of left field. You could have gone a little over 2 hours in length.
