-How many pets have you had at one time?
2 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 bettas. I currently have 4 bettas, but I think I had 5 at one time.

-What is the strangest pet you have ever had?
Hermit Crabs. Not super strange, but it was an 80s thing.

-What is the coolest trick you have ever taught a pet?
My old roommate's cat would play fetch with the toy mice. He would also do some pretty incredible acrobatics when we tossed it to him.

-Real animals: What animal have you always wanted as a pet?
There isn't anything I've always wanted, but I'd like a small dog.

-Imaginary animals: Describe the ideal pet, an animal that doesn't really exist.
A small dog (or a cat) that does not shed and does not need to be walked (or litter box for a cat).

I had never heard of bettas, so I googled and wow! the pictures are amazing.
I am with you entirely on the requirements for an imaginary pet.

Bettas are quite addicting. I've had them for about 13 years now.

Some are fancier than others, but I love them all. Plus they are really easy to care for.

I love cats and dogs but after years of trying to clean up after them, I'm done!
