Looking at the Sherlock tag on tumblr, I came across a post or 2 about Amanda Abbington being harassed on Twitter. Went to investigate, and found that she had been defending Steven Moffat, who is a friend of hers, against people who were calling him misogynistic. Apparently Moffat was getting hate tweets and death threats. Moffat is one of the gurus behind Doctor Who and Sherlock. Amanda is Martin Freeman's (aka John Watson) girlfriend. Anyway, Moffat deleted his twitter account. His wife, Sue Vertue, said not to worry, he is fine. Ok, what is my point here? Stupid people hide behind internet anonymity and threaten people's lives, because they disagree with something on a TV show. FICTIONAL tv show. Ok, as if threats are going to get what you want or change a person's mind. Just saddens me. I mean, I remember looking through the Teen Beat magazines my sister used to wallpaper our bedroom with NKOTB pictures, and getting so excited that I could write famous people a letter they might actually read. Even the penpal sections excited me, though my mother refused to let me write to anyone. Now, you can hop online and email or tweet all sorts of celebs. Shoot, sometimes they even write or tweet back. Yes, they are famous, but they are also human like the rest of us. Who are these people who get so violent through their words? Would they say the same thing to the person's face? Grrr. Go away internet trolls!
There was the 16 year old who tweeted about Obama a few days ago. Um, yeah, not smart chica. Her account was deleted within hours, but not before screencaps and retweets happened.
Ok, why do I love Martin Freeman? Aside from loving the characters he's played, he's hilarious in real life. I'm listening to day of Stephen Merchant's BBC radio show he and Amanda covered several months back. Adorable. He's hilarious on Never Mind the Buzzcocks a well.

I didn't read about the tweeting teen re: Obama, but I've been avoiding the news. It's all the same BS repeated over & over. Meh.
