Sometime long ago, I made a playlist on iTunes called Songs Played Twice. If the title doesn't speak for itself, it's the songs I noticed I'd listen to twice when they came up on shuffle. About a year ago, I needed to burn a cd for someone, and decided to burn this playlist to make sure the burner worked. It worked for this cd, then refused to burn the wedding mix cd the friend needed. Oops. Since this cd is currently my backup music in the car, it makes me want to share the list. I found it easier to make an image of the playlist than to type it out. Lazy? Maybe.

A little about each song:
1: Heard on the classic rock station. Just always caught my ear, and I love it. Had no idea what the title was, so listened to nearly every Led Zeppelin song before someone suggested I try searching Robert Plant's solo work.
2: Pointed out to me by [livejournal.com profile] holbytla because it reminded her of Thornton in North and South. Also, because it's M. Ward.
3 and 8: Discovered when watching a fan video for some period drama or other. Liked both songs right away.
4: Discovered on a mix cd when I worked at Starbucks. It was the first song that played during an opening shift, and just fit the mood well. Hooray for being at work at 4:30am??
5: [livejournal.com profile] ewanspotter posted a Sherlock Holmes fan video using this song, but also touted the song itself. So, I gave it a listen.
6: A free download either from Starbucks or iTunes. I tend to either love or hate those free songs. This was a loved one, of course.
7: A song I'd hear while hanging out at Luis's coffee shop. After hearing it several times, I finally looked to see and wrote down the title and artist. Then, I forgot about it for ages, until I looked in my little purse notebook. It still reminds me of Luis.
9: My favorite Coldplay song.
10: Ooooh, 90s throwback! Also I think the Bangles' comeback attempt.
11: First heard on an episode of Northern Exposure way back when that show aired. Later heard on a Lexus commercial. I had no idea how to find it, having no title or artist to go by. However, by then it was the Napster era, and my roommates were computer geeks. Somehow, with only with the knowledge of it being on NE, one of them found it for me.
12: Another free download, I think from Starbucks.
13: Another 90s favorite. At least I think it's the late 90s.

How many of them are you familiar with? It seems like nobody I know has heard most of the list.

Most of them...maybe people would recognize them if they heard them?

I didn't know of the groups A Fine Frenzy and Civil Twilight but I recognized the song "Letters from the Sky" from somewhere. Royksopp is pretty popular at Goth clubs, one of their songs is remixed by an Industrial music DJ. Zoe Keating is someone Leah loves to listen to, she wants to study cello. All the other stuff I would've thought was fairly popular music. Clearly I am mistaken! lol

Who knows - it could be me who's in the dark about music. Most of what I hear comes from limited radio stations. I did hear "You Picked Me" at Dillard's though.

My cd has 14 songs, and this list has 13. The order is different so I can't remember what is missing.
