Started out the morning by going to IHOP for Kelly's birthday. I got her a Johnny Depp biography, and she loved it. I was hungry when we got there but could only eat half my food, and I usually inhale good breakfast food. Stomach was a little sensitive, but the oddest thing cured it: the overwhelming aroma of popcorn from the Target snack bar. I kid you not, I went from feeling full and nauseaus to just fine in 2 seconds.
Came home, drank a pot of coffee. Partly because I was cold, and partly because I'm a caffeine addict. Don't really feel awake until I have some coffee. It was half-caf at least, so it was really only like, 12 ounces of coffee, not 24. Yummy vanilla caramel coffeemate creamer! Silly me, was still tired (think I'm getting a cold) so I attempted a nap. Let me tell you, coffee+nap=waking up every 5 minutes though it felt like longer. I also panicked every time I woke up. I did manage to get a solid hour of sleep eventually.
Went to Heather and Laura's annual Oscar watching party again. As soon as I walked in Heather's mom says I've lost weight. I laughed because I hear this all the time from people even though I've been the same weight for almost a year now, and I only lost about 10 lbs. However, it's been a year since I last saw Heather's mom (last year's Oscar party) so she really can say that I've lost weight. Her parents are so funny. Her mom is a total hostess, making sure we all had enough to eat and drink, and her dad is cool. We also had cake for Kelly and for Heather and Laura's dad's birthday. Kelly blew out all 22 candles, go her!
Heather's family makes the Oscars so much fun. Laura makes ballots for the Oscar pool, really cool ones with full page magazine pictures on one side, and the major categories and nominies on the back. I chose the Cate Blanchett ballot. Last year I almost tied for 1st place, but I thought Bill Murray woould get best actor over Sean Penn. This year, I chose underdogs again and got more wrong. However, I knew Eternal Sunshine would win, as well as Jamie Foxx. Even the boring awards are more fun with more people around watching.
Must go see Million Dollar Baby now.
