My mommy and sister are gone back home. I'm glad they came, even though it seemed to go quickly. Well, 4 days is pretty fast. We went to the Grand Canyon via the scenic route, got me a new bookshelf, and ate a ton. I should write more here, but I'm feeling lazy. :)

Finished watching Bleak House. I like it. Maybe not enough to watch it again, but I liked it. Well, I take that back. I'm sure I'll watch parts of it here and again. One character's voice, not face, was so familiar, I had to pause it to check imdb. Mrs. Rouncewell on BH turned out to be the gypsy on Jane Eyre. Ah hah! I knew it was somebody I should know!

The Grand Canyon! So cool. It's on my list of places to visit.

Hmm, I find your opinions on Bleak House interesting. I think the mystery aspect of the story is appealing to me. And all those crazy characters.

And referring to your other BH comment, yes, all those characters are aggravating. So Dickens, like you said. Though Mr. Smallweed made me laugh every time his entrance was heard from the next room :P "Shake me up, Judy!"

When I was listneing to the audio book, it took a LOOOOOOONG time for me to figure out what the heck was going on. I didn't even realize it was a mystery of sorts. You've got so many storylines to follow: Esther, Richard and Ada, the Jarndyce case, Lady Dedlock, Tulkinghorn, Guppy, etc. Dickens tells so much about everyone (and I had the abridged version!); The couple where the wife turned out to be Esther's aunt's old housekeeper got like 20 minutes in the book, and about 3 in the movie.

Smallweed, yeah, I'll shake him up LOL.

I liked it, and couldn't wait to see more, but I can't see sitting through all 8 hours again.

(did you see the N&S picspam post?)

Yeah, it was hard enough keeping up with everyone the first time around watching the DVD, I can't imagine how it would be with an audio book. I've watched it probably 5 times total, which wouldn't be anything if we were talking about P&P, but BH...yeah lol.

Smallweed, yeah, I'll shake him up LOL.
Lol so hard!

I saw the post but didn't click. Bad of me, I know. I kept thinking about it though.

Speaking of which, last night I put in N&S before bed. I've decided to go through my movies again. Mr. Thornton! Golly, he's the bee's knees! :P

BH 5 times? That's award-worthy! Here, have some of the Mexican rice I made.

I think it's funny that everyone knows everyone in the story. Or, tehy knew someone at an earlier point in life. How exaggerated is that, I wonder. Not just in Dickens, but Austen as well.

Yay for watching N&S again. I love my brooding man.
