Hmm, no post since the 3rd. My bad. I almost posted my current Facebook status here, but that would just be spreading my frustration. Sooooooooo, instead, a nonsensical post.

Things to do:
-finish grading
-finish report cards, including the dreaded comments
-finish lesson plans
-find materials I'll need to use this week
-laundry
-buy/install new computer fan
-watch more of Little Dorrit

Spent several hours working at Starbucks today with Susan. Did a little more tonight, but I'm still putting off the writing assignments I need to grade. I'm happy with their quarterly writing samples, at least. Every quarter I swear to keep up with grading, and I don't know what happens.

...am I boring or am I just an adult?

Honey, you're an adult with responsibilities. It's not like normal adults have adventures all the time, or go jetting off to places, or have danger and intrigue. I personally find the everyday stuff you post to be reassuringly normal!

Whew, I feel better.

The computer teacher always posts on FB when he's at the bar or a restaurant or doing something else fun. Makes me want to scream sometimes.

ROFL @ your icon - that's great!!

Ah, computer teacher - that explains it. Computer teacher = computer nerd = always online. (At least, in my world that's how it works.)

I'm glad you don't feel the need to incessantly update people on your moment-by-moment doings. I mean, I like to read the little details of what people do, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't worry that you somehow suck 'cause you're not constantly updating your status or whatever. :)

Computer teachers also don't have quite the same amount of lesson planning and grading to keep up with, in my experience.

He barely even teaches content anymore. The district has the kids on learning.com all the time. He's also a reading specialist so works with some small groups but still doesn't have nearly the workload.

1) an adult

2) I do the same thing with grading! Although now I feel like each week I keep saying "I HAVE to keep up on grading now!" and it just never seems to work out. Or it will for approximately 3 days and then...I don't even know what happens but all of a sudden I'm sitting there next to a 2-foot pile of papers.

I didn't grade a single writing assignment all quarter (kept putting them off) and now I'm doing them. I wanted to give their lang. arts grade based off their end of quarter writing samples (which I did score on the 6 traits) but that would mean I was being really lazy. So, now I'm plowing through 5 different assignments. I'm only grading 1-2 traits we focused on per assignment. They aren't very long, but still, why do I do this to myself???

LOLOLOL....as a current student (albeit, one who is much older than yours) I find this really amusing and can't help but wonder if MY profs post stuff like this somewhere regarding grading the stuff that I turn in. *chuckling*

I belong to a teacher community, where members teach anything from pre-school to college. So, yes, profs complain too.

I'm halfway done with grading, by the way. YAY!
