And after just checking IMDB, it's a really happy accident. I looked up the PBS schedule on a whim hoping maybe Bleak House would be on Masterpiece Theater. It wasn't, but Wuthering Heights was. I only had an hour to decide whether to watch it or read the book as planned. Seeing as I just started P&P again over all the other unread books I have, I knew I might as well watch it. Holy crap, good story! Not in the gushy love story that I'm used to, but in a wow, this is insane type story. Upon checking IMDB, I find that it's brand new. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1238834/ Release date said April 2009 for the UK. I need to watch Masterpiece Theater more often. Now I just have to wait a week to see how this ends.

Do you not know how Wuthering Heights ends or do you mean you can't wait to see how they decided to show the ending?

I read the book and watched the old B&W movie.
It is such a crazy story.

I caught the last bit of it. I just happened to turn to it during the sex scene lol. What great timing I have!

I don't know how WH ends. In fact, the little I thought I knew about it seemed to be totally wrong. So, watching will be a pleasant surprise, or a crappy one, since the story overall is depressing.

You missed the part where Heathcliff digs up Catherine in her grave, ew. And yes, sex scene, well, which one? The first one was less obvious than the second, but she was married the second time. WH is just SO NOT Jane Eyre. Different sister, I know, but it's crazy.

Upon searching imdb and the PBS site, I've made it my goal to watch everything with Matthew McFadyen, including Little Dorrit which will be on in a few months.

ETA I read somewhere that local PBS stations sometimes air Sunday's Masterpiece Theater again later in the week, so you might be able to see the whole thing.

Oh great. There's two scenes? It was the one after she was married.
I hate it when they feel the need to show everything! All the period movies I've rented recently have had showy sex scenes. I'm just so sick of it.

Yes. Definitely not JE.

OoOoO Little Dorrit is coming on soon? I've been dying to watch it :D!!

Thanks. I might watch if I happen to spot it. I'm not so crazy about WH, but it's something to do if I'm bored I guess.

Yeah, there's a scene before with Heathcliff. Period dramas didn't have sex scenes! Shoot, the one in last year's Northanger Abbey was shocking enough.

I was laying in bed last night drawing a family tree in my mind trying to keep the characters straight. I was thrown off by (older) Catherine's nephew, who was living with Heathcliff.

Little Dorrit will be on starting March 29th.
