After consulting my nurse-sister, I broke down and went to urgent care for my arm. The pain has gotten worse since Sunday and my range of motion has decreased. The doctor said nothing showed up on the x-rays, and that is most likely "bursitis or some other -itis" and that if I'd just left it alone and stopped using my arm, it could freeze up. I got a steroid prescription (5 days, and it won't turn me into a man) for the inflammation and the offer of something to help me sleep, which I declined. On Friday I should start doing exercises to help get range of motion back. I just want the use of my arm back! It functions from the elbow down, such as that I can lift and hold items and type, but raising my arm is out of the question, and even certain movements now cause sharp pains. Yesterday, I warned my students I'd be saying ouch all day, and at one point I stopped mid-sentence, frustrated that I couldn't even scratch my right arm. Taking a shower with one functioning arm = fun! Before, it was just movement that hurt, now it's a consistent ache.

Amazing...I went to a doctor. Well, urgent care because I never bothered to find myself a general physician. I've not needed one before, at least not since I've had insurance.

Oh yeah, I didn't have the stomach flu after all, just ate way too much last night. I really did think I was sick for a while though.

So much for getting caught up on school work today.

How strange! I wonder what that could possibly be? I love the doctor's diagnosis, though LOL But seriously, I hope the meds work and that everything functions as it should afterward.

You're going to grow back hair and an Adam's apple. Sorry. That's just how it works.

(Sorry to hear you haven't been well, sweetie. I seem to have missed quite a bit lately. Many snuggles.)

That sounds so painful! I honestly can't imagine trying to do things 1 handedly. I must take my appendages for granted. I hope you're feeling all better soon!
