This morning, I went to the funeral of a teacher at my old school. He died in a car accident on Sunday - apparently ran a red light and was hit by another car. His FB page is so full of posts from friends and family members, and the church was full today. Even the priest commented on how many people came. Most of the service was in Spanish, so I used what Spanish I can remember to get the gist of things. Having never been to a Catholic church, it was a new experience for me to hear songs sung to the virgin Mary.

The whole experience made me think about several things. Much pondering will occur today as I try a new chocolate cake recipe, and also ganache for the first time.

Ok so I just posted about a funeral then baking a cake. It just doesn't seem right to have a sad subject then perky ones together. But, whatever.

-I feel the need to watch Emma or Sense and Sensibility today.
-Watched Fellowship of the Ring last week with Amy and STILL caught myself tensing up during exciting scenes.
-Need to think about and get my job searching act together really soon.
-I read this (http://www.air1.com/blog/brant/post/2012/01/10/Is-Jesus-Enough.aspx) blog entry a week or so ago, and it really touched me. It showed me what happens in the lives of others that -I just don't have a clue about. It's a bit long, but worth reading, even the comments, which taught me more about what people go through, often in secret.
-Love talking to my roommate. More learning about life through the experiences of others. Realizing I don't know it all. I mean, I knew that, but still.
-I keep grabbing the usb mouse even though it's not plugged in to the laptop. Still not a touch-pad fan. I just plugged it in and my battery life went up. Hmmm.
