I just read Prince Caspian this last week, and today saw a picture from the new movie. Not sure who the person was with Edmund, Peter and Susan, I checked IMDb and it really is Caspian in the picture. But...unless I read wrong, isn't Caspian way younger in the book? Like young teen at best? He's played by the guy from Stardust, who I'll admit I thought was pretty cute when I saw that. Still, it seems wrong for Caspian to be 26 years old.

A friend lent me Jane Eyre with Samantha Morton and Cieran Hinds. This is the fourth version I've seen, whenever I finish watching it. It's not nearly as bad as 2 of the other versions, but this one I couldn't finish in one sitting. One positive is that finally, I see a Rochester who really is unattactive in personality. However, they made him like Adele right away, which isn't right. Also, speeding through Jane's childhood in 12 minutes? Hmm, yeah. 2006 Jane Eyre is so much love.

Hey! He's hot. And that's all that matters in movie land.

Yes, true. Forget what the book says, we have hot actor dude!

The book is actually a little violent, so I wonder how much of that will be in the movie, since it's considered a family film. I'm excited for Aslan though.

I just read that sentence as "I'm excited for Asian, though." I couldn't figure out what you were referring to and laughed a little when I looked closer.

I heard somewhere that this movie has more intense action sequences - probably more violent, but not enough to lift it to a PG-13 rating.

D'oh! I still need to rent the version of Jane Eyre that you recommended! I am almost always with Justin when I go to Blockbuster, so whenever it comes time to choose a movie (on a tight budget) we get one that both of us want to see. I've gotten Justin into many things guys don't normally go for, but Jane Austen is one I have little to no hope for on that front :/ Next time I go, I'm getting it! I promise!

Did you ever see Becoming Jane? I haven't, for the same reason as above.

The way I see it with book-to-film adaptations is that as long as they are faithful to the book in most aspects (especially where it really counts), I'm willing to accept the movie as a separate entity that can be good or bad in itself. I haven't read any Narnia, but that great of an age change for a very important character sounds like a BIG change that could potentially make for a less-than-satisfactory and unfaithful film adaptation. I hope that's not the case with Prince Caspian.

If you're going to read Narnia, I recommend them in the same order as the movies are coming out, that is, in the order they were published. I got the whole series in one big book, before I knew they were being made into movies, and the stories are in chronological order of Nanian events. The Magician's Nephew was really boring, so I thought I'd never read the rest of them. As for the movies, I was pretty satisfied with LWW.

Same friend that lent me Jane Eyre also gave me Becoming Jane, but I haven't watched it yet. Yes, you must watch the new Jane Eyre! I'd even mail you my copy if it came down to it. You'd just have to promise to give it back :)

I haven't seen Prince Caspian yet, but Caspin is suppose to be 13 years old in the book (the same age as Susan). He's 16 in Dawn Tredder.

My mother saw the new film -- she was not impressed.

The only reference to Caspian's age in the movie is when someone snidely calls him a boy, but he's obviously not 13.

I enjoyed the movie, but it's not one I'd watch over and over again.
