I hate not knowing. I hate watching the situation get ever crappier, while the higher ups selectively share information with us. I feel like I'm in total denial, else I'd be completely freaking out. As it is, I just sit, and wait, and attempt to keep teaching.

We get information, but I really believe they are either holding back on us or in complete denial of just how big an issue/deal/change this really is. If it does happen, our summer is 6 weeks...there's NO WAY they can get all the changes and planning done in that short a time. There was a parent/community information meeting tonight, and one parent who's a teacher in another district was talking to us today before the meeting. She's completely pissed, both as a community member and a fellow educator. The entire situation is just a huge mess, and many people are paying for it. HR apparently doesn't like our (the teacher's) idea on how to reassign jobs, which feels like punishment for something we didn't do. There is a small chance I won't have a job (I'm low on the totem pole), and even if I do, I have no idea what or where it will be.

Seriously, can the state just take over now?

And please continue to make sure the kids pass the state tests while you're under all this stress!

My principal says yesterday, "in times of stress, I look to my job to help me get through it, really focusing on work." He said this at the staff meeting, to a room full of people who don't know what's happening to them next year. Yeahhhh, let's look to our jobs to help in these tough times when work is the cause of our stress!

What's the teachers' idea on how to deal with the matter?

Our idea was teachers with the most seniority get first pick of what's available. HR keeps saying something about highly qualified blah blah. We find out more on Tuesday.
