A few people have done things that inspired courage in me. [livejournal.com profile] sewcute told me how she met her husband. [livejournal.com profile] bowiechaser suggested a site to try. Then, the roomie signed up for that same site. She only did it initially because of something like swagbucks (visit sites, get money or points for stuff) suggested it. She said she didn't like it, esp. that you have to pay in order to send, or more importantly, respond to, messages. A few days later she says she's interested enough to have paid for a membership. Today, a coworker mentioned how going on dates, and then getting to know her fiance, and now planning her wedding, have been like part-time jobs. So, on my way home, I decided to answer a couple of messages from guys on the site where I only get free days every other month. One guy had sent me the exact same message twice, 2 months apart. Part of the message itself sort of annoyed me, so I addressed that. He didn't seem to get it; I didn't care. The other guy wrote back, and actually lives nearby. Hmmm...maybe I need to jump on OKCupid before my courage runs out.
