Desert dweller's worst nightmare

Last week my ceiling fan died. A new one is on order, but no big deal, I still had air conditioning - until today. Reena's over to watch movies and after a while I notice it's getting warm when the AC isn't actually running. After playing with the thermostat a bit, it's not coming on at all. So, we journeyed to the office to tell them. On the way back, the maintence man told me he had the fan and would be by later. I said that's good because now the AC isn't working; 3 maintence workers stopped and stared at me, which was hilarious.

So, Reena and I are now contemplating putting Pride and Prejudice (the long version) on hold to find someplace cooler.

ETA: Maintenance came by and flipped the breaker. I felt dumb, but yay, cool air!

ick that's horrible! I need at least one or the either - preferably the AC. When we had the east coast black out a few years back it was when the weather was like 95+ here and VERY humid. It was the most uncomfortable 3 days EVER.
