Friday Five
Jul. 14th, 2018 05:04 pm1) If you could be either a fish or a bird, which would you be, and why?
A bird, as I'd love to be able to fly. Not so sure about eating worms and bugs though. Oh, and would I have the mindset of a bird, and do they try and poop on people? I swear seagulls do.
2) Would you rather it be 10 degrees too hot or 10 degrees too cold? (Does your answer change if that’s indoors or outdoors?)
Definitely too cold. You can always put on more layers. I've been in a situation where it was too warm. I was substitute teaching and the AC was out. We kept the lights off but there was light coming in the windows and doors. I think we had the doors open to get any possible circulation, though it was around 100 outside. The school didn't have any bottled water, and the soda machine was broken so I couldn't get a drink. The tap water here is disgusting. Towards the end of the day we all had to go to an assembly which was not much better. After school, I got a giant iced tea and guzzled it. Still, I felt like crap for the rest of the evening.
3) What is the best thing that happened to you today?
I'm doing this on Saturday but I'll mention something from yesterday, which was finding a Darth Maul action figure from 1998 at the used bookstore. Well, Bookmans entertainment exchange is what they call themselves. I have not been there in years but went in search of a dvd copy of Episode 3. They only had one which was full-screen edition. Anyway, Bookmans has a ton of books, movies, and music as well as toys. I love the fact that people sold their old toys, still in package (though they have random bags of toys too). Way back when Episode 1 came out, I searched all over for a Darth Maul figure. I eventually found one, among other Star Wars action figures I bought at the time. I gave those figures away several years later.
4) Is youth wasted on the young? (Follow-up: are you old or young?)
Nah, it's fun to be young when you're young, and being an adult has it's perks. I'm 40, so does that make me middle aged?
5) Pasta salad or potato salad?
Wow, I like both. I'd say it's whatever I'm craving at the moment, but I'd say I lean slightly towards potato.
