Friday Fiver
May. 27th, 2016 08:15 pm1. If you could, would you be a movie star or a rock star?
Rock star. I like to sing, but am not great at it. I'd love if I WAS good at it and got paid for it. I don't know if I'd love touring all the time, much as I love to travel. But I'd get to see more of the world than I have so far.
2. Have you ever been in the media (TV, Radio, Papers)?
I was in the newspaper 3 times in 6th grade. Once for being part of the DARE program, once running a sack race at the end of year picnic, and I don't remember the last one.
My 1st grade class put on a production of Snow White, in which I was a (pink) rabbit. It was recorded and shown a few times on the local cable access channel. I was doing my part (maybe walking or dancing?) and my ears fell off.
I called into radio stations a few times, and at least once my request was played on air. I recorded it, I was so excited. That must have been in middle school. In high school I called in one morning because the DJs were talking about some storm damage that happened at my school - the roof had blown off a couple of buildings. I described what it looked like. That was fun as I had heard them talking while I was sitting in my car, then ran to a payphone to call.
Last summer, I was on Absolute Radio's breakfast show when I crashed their picnic. I didn't know they would put me on air, but I was thrilled.
3. Do you know anyone who's been on a reality TV show?
I had dinner with one of the girls on the show where Bret Michaels (I think) was looking for a girlfriend. She was a visiting my friend for the weekend. We went to the middle school dance (where I used to teach and my friend was the counselor) and the kids were impressed to see someone "famous."
4. Have you ever met anyone famous?
I met my favorite DJs from Absolute Radio - Geoff Lloyd, Annabel Port, Christian O'Connell, Richie Firth, Andrew Bailey, and Faye Caruthers. They are famous in the UK but still. I made a sandwich for an NBA player when I worked at a sandwich shop. I didn't know who he was at the time. Oh, I met Mitch Pileggi and Dean Haglund at an X-Files convention. Shoot, was Nick Lea there too?
5. Who would play you in a movie?
Ack, someone awkward but awesome. Maybe Amy Poehler.
