This past weekend I went camping outside of Flagstaff, AZ. I did 2 new things: camp at a place without bathrooms or running water, and hike through a lava tube. Regarding the former, I'm glad it was only one night. Finding a tree far enough from our campsite was...interesting. For the latter, that was Saturday and my legs STILL hurt. In part of the cave, the ceiling was so low that I was crab crawling forward. My feet kept getting stuck on the uneven ground. At the time, my knee hurt, but afterwards it was my quads that felt the most strain.

Wow...I knew it was long but I didn't realize that the cave was 3/4 mile each way. That's 1.5 miles of looking down the entire time (I had a headlamp lighting my way), and having to use my arms for balance or to make sure I didn't hit my head on a low-ceiling section. No wonder I was so exhausted when we got out. I could barely hold the pen to sign the visitor book when we got out. Then I surprised [livejournal.com profile] mysterygal11 by texting her afterwards :) I had to share the experience with my resident volcano expert friend.

Watching Vegas Week on SYTYCD. Love this show.
