(no subject)

I'm listening to a live session with Lana del Rey. I already thought her voice was hauntingly beautiful, and I'm glad the SNL set seemed to be a bad night. She sounds woderful now. Geoff Lloyd interviewed her, and she's much perkier than her songs led me to believe. Not annoyng perky, but she sounds like a genuinely nice person.

One of my longtime internet friends posted asked me on FB today if I've seen P&P 2005. She said "It is not only the most awful version of this great book, but also one of the worst movies ever made." I just laughed. She's not on LJ, and so hasn't seen my myriad of posts on books & movies, but I gush about Brit lit occasionally on FB. I replied with how that movie started me on the genre, and how since I'd not read ANY Austen (or anything else similar) that the inconsistencies didn't bother me. In fact, it made me love it more.

I have the day off, therefore I shall post

I feel like a stay at home wife. Only, I'm not married. I didn't get a sub job today, though I was going to turn down a call if I got one I didn't want to take. The pork shoulder in the fridge needed to be slow roasted, and I haven't had a long-enough period of time to do it until today. (PW's spicy shredded pork, if you want the recipe) Anyway, my non-work days I often bake and/or clean. The floor is a bit gross right now, so I'll sweep and mop soon. But...I feel strange. The days I sub I often want to go home, but when I'm at home, I feel a bit useless. Not working full-time this school year has messed with my brain. I sometimes (needlessly) feel guilty because the roommie works full time and often does something in the evenings. I come home from a sub job and plop in front of the computer. Not everyday, but whatever. I don't think A would really notice or care if I didn't clean like I do. Plus, it's more because the mess bothers me than to be a good roommie.

I feel like I'm rambling here...it feels like a P&P day. That or ep2 of Sherlock.
