I have a wee obsession with damask patterns. It started with the blue couch in Emma 2009, but then my attention was drawn to other damask-print items on the same set. I had a damask theme on iGoogle for a while, stare at layouts with damask backgrounds, and get excited when I see the print in stores. When I pointed it out, my friend got me the damask piggy bank from Target for Christmas. At Ross, I found a huge pad of damask themed scrapbook paper, which I bought. I don't scrapbook by the way. I do want to scan a few sheets of the paper and see if I can make it wallpaper, or even better, have someone make a layout for me. Ha. At Staples earlier, I managed to hold back and not buy the damask stationary I do not need.

BTW, an earlier incident cemented something I was already cautious of. In my Google image search for a picture of the blue couch, 3 porn images came up on the first page. Um, ack. Every once in a while I will do an image search for something that came up in class. Once a rather tame sidebar ad for plastic surgery appeared, and my 4th graders lost it. Since then, usually I check the image and then the site before switching to the projector. I'll do this every single time from now on, lest the kids get a bit of an unintended lesson.

Things I need more of like I need a hole in the head: pajama pants, tank tops (finally got rid of some yesterday), button-down or v-neck sweaters, cookies. Why I made cookies again, I have no idea.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of Luis. I need to go visit him again soon. However, he probably won't know I'm there.
