Note to self
Oct. 6th, 2008 02:59 pmEating leftover tzatziki ingredients (cucumbers, dill, yogurt) and then drinking a poor man's mocha (chocolate milk and the leftover coffee from this morning) does not taste good.
I did my civic duty this morning and reported for jury duty. We did a lot of waiting, and a judge came in to the assembly room and talked to us about how appreciative he was that we came, and why it's so important. Apparently they call so many people because there's about a 20% reporting rate, and since all people have the right to a jury trial, if we weren't there they couldn't have a trial that day. I don't know how many were called today, but 31 in my group reported, and 6 were needed for the DUI trial. We had to sit and answer a lot of questions from the judge, then wait while indiviuals were called and asked more questions. I thought for sure I'd be called because I only raised my hand once to say I'd been the victim of a crime (my car was broken into). I guess they wanted older folks, because the 6 chosen were all in their 40s or older. So, yay, I got to leave.
When using the self-checkout lane at Safeway, don't choose the day more than half your items are produce. I'm in a cooking mood, and bought tzatziki and guacamole ingredients, along with a bunch of vegetables. I sat there looking up the codes for most of the items.
Maintenence still hasn't been by to fix the AC drip today. At least I don't think they were, since there wasn't a note left, but the AC was off and I can't remember if I turned it off last night or not.
Last night I went to Susan and Mark's church, then we went to Oregano's for dinner. Yum, I had been craving Pablo Picasso salad.
My hands smell like lemon, or garlic, I'm not sure.
Ok, to make guacamole today or tomorrow, I can't decide. I need a cooking icon.
