I'm staying at my friend Allison's house for a few days before going back home. My car is parked outside her house on a somewhat busy street; she has a detatched garage in the back of her house. This morning, I woke up to a car alarm, and peeked out the window. Sure enough, my alarm was going off, and I saw a white car pulling away. The alarm stopped, and I didn't see anything else so I just looked at the clock (715am) and laid down again. I was a little worried but didn't do anything.
I got up about an hour later and told Allison I thought someone tried to break into my car. I went out to check, and the rear driver's side window was shattered. Glass everywhere: ALL over the street all over the seat. A huge rock is on the floor inside the car. They got a reusable grocery bag with some of my presents and small things I'd bought, a Gap bag with a pair of pants, and a gift bag with the present I got from another friend. I hope they enjoy the crap from Target, book about building Church community, and Casting Crowns cd. =P Breaking the window didn't set off the alarm, it was when they opened the car door. They also broke a small wing window on Allison's boyfriend's truck, which is parked in front of mine. They didn't steal anything, probably couldn't get the door open.
I'm not upset about the few things they stole, I'm pissed that they did it in broad daylight, on a busy street, and I'm afraid they will come back. I'm going to take my suitcase and bigger bag out of the trunk later. I still have to drive the 6-7 hours back to Arizona with my window like that, unless my insurance company cn find a local place open today.
