Sucks like woah, but I should have known
Jul. 15th, 2007 07:34 pmNext time, I'll trust my instincts (and YouTube clips) to know when I should avoid a movie. I'm watching this version of Jane Eyre and I keep muttering how much it sucks, how painful it is to watch, etc. I should have known after seeing a key scene on YouTube that gave me the creeps. At least I only paid about $5 for it after my Borders discounts. The only reason I'm still watching is because I want to actually finish it before I possibly burn it. The only redeeming qualities of this version are Jane isn't so deathly pale, and trying to figure out if they used the same building for Thornfield Hall as in this version which I love which my friend is borrowing.
Ok, must finish watching...through my fingers. Yeah, like the way I'd watch a scary movie.
Edit: Holy crap this version is bad! It took a lot of effort to even finish watching. If it had been my first experience with JE, like first movie version or before I'd read the book, there's no way I'd have become a fan. It's cheesey, it's painful to watch, they left SO MUCH out, and changed a ton of what was left. Seriously, avoid the 1996 version at all costs.
