A full school year, 180 instructional days. Not that all of them were used to their full potential (this week was pretty much a waste). I have taught a full year. Wow.
Since I'm paid from the Title I budget, I didn't have a homeroom. Thus I didn't have to do any of the homeroom teacher end-of-year stuff, like permenant record cards and cum folders. I tried to help a few teachers with theirs. I wanted to help, but I also wanted to learn because someday I'll have to do such things. It's a big hassel and somewhat tedious if you leave it to the end. I really wish my school would go to computerized report cards. We have computerized midterms, I don't know what the problem is. Well, there is the unreliable server to deal with.
A whole slew of teachers are leaving, as well as the principal. He got a little choked up today at lunch. Next year may be a distaster, who knows. We need a combined 8th grade science and social studies teacher. Ok, who is going to do that?? We also need an 8th grade English teacher. I have this feeling if it comes down to the wire I may end up teaching it. Weird thing is, since principal is gone as of Monday, and we don't have a replacement yet, who is going to do hiring for us?
Next year, woah.
