GAH. My students stress me out. I have to say today wasn't the worst day, not even a bad day to be honest. Yet, I really needed a Starbucks fix after school. I was prepping both classes for the writing assessment tomorrow, and as much as I might stress the importance to them, they felt other things were more important and in need of discussion. Ok, that's nothing new, but when it's May and they still can't remember what an introduction is or that it goes at the beginning of an essay, I'm scared. I was a little relieved when I read their box-plans, because they aren't totally clueless. However, they only get the prompt, a paper for planning, and a paper for their final drafts tomorrow. They will want to talk to each other, and ask me questions, but I can't answer them. I fear I will have to move them all around the room facing the wall in order to keep them from talking to each other. Argh, I hate that I don't even get that much respect. Ok, not going to complain anymore. I am going to wonder what next year will be like. By what criteria will I get my students? How many will I have? Should I use Compass? How can I make less boring supplement Corrective Reading?

This week is relatively simple. Writing tomorrow, tests in the computer lab Wednesday, field trip Thursday, early release Friday. Dude, I need more of a life to write about here.

I love this Baz Luhrmann CD.
