I have fulfilled my civic duty and voted. I wear my sticker proudly, and make sure everyone notices it, though most people see it on their own. I will be at work at 415am tomorrow; hopefully we'll know the outcome by then, but I have my doubts.
I normally don't like getting into politics, but the predidential election is important to me, as well as the ballot initiatives for CA. I don't get into a lot of political discussions, mainly because once people hear that I support Bush, they either don't want to hear what I have to say or they go off on a rampage about how insane I am and how could I possibly vote for him? When I stopped my work today, I got a few comments, but mostly in jest. It's nice that most people I know don't judge me based on my political views. I had a great discussion with Amy the other day, and we both felt safe expressing our views because we knew disagreements would not end our friendship.
Kim and Shea were discussing politics with Greg, and I just sat and listened and smiled. I can see things from Kim and Shea's perspectives, how they are young and get really heated and focused about a couple of issues, and I can also see Greg's perspective, as an older person who's lived through a lot more than we have. I have a huge amount of respect for Greg. I'll be sad when I don't see him on a daily basis.
I should watch the news and see what the status is, but the polls aren't even closed in CA yet. I'm happy I don't live in Florida.
