that scene was supposed to express that Darcy is not an old stiff, he's a young man who likes the outdoors and isn't afraid of mussing his hair
And there I was, equating it to a cold shower because he was frustrated about Lizzie. Heh. There's a definite change in Darcy after Lizzie's rejection. I like him so much better. I also love how he put Caroline in her place.
