I just need to get this out

GRRRRRR!!!! I'm sick of being single!

That is all. You may go back to your regularly scheduled activities.

... until you aren't, and realize how much easier life is as a single. :D

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but you've been on the other side, so you can say that. I haven't and thus can't. Also, watch Sound of Music.

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
SOME DAY I WILL WATCH IT.

>.>

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Someday LIKE TOMORROW MAYBE??

It's old, it's a little cheesey, but it's one of those things you just have to watch. That said, I'm shocked at how many people I know have not seen it. Did y'all not grow up watching NBC???

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
I wasn't really into older movies. I'd probably appreciate it more now anyway. I mean, I know enough about it to appreciated the parody in the beginning of Moulin Rouge.

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
See when I first saw it at, oh, age 8 or something, I didn't know it was old.

What the heck is happening in that icon?

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmmmkay DAVE FOLEY! Awesome.

Sometimes I really miss tv. Then a few commercials and those annoying animated things at the bottom of the screen during shows ruins it all over again.

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
I never, ever saw this movie on TV and was actually surprised by your comment of it being on all the time during December!

She put up with a TON of crap before things fell into place.

Some of those nuns were just SNOTS. "What is the problem with Mariaaaaaa????" as if she's some piece of damaged goods. *GRUMBLES*

I love, LOVE "My Favorite Things." It's one of the VERY FEW songs I can or will sing out loud when other people are around me, though I am selective about those few and still don't sing it very loudly. :)

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
I think that day should be during this weekend. ;)

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Is Becky recruiting some kind of Sound of Music mafia, forcing people to watch it... or else. ;D

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Heh heh heh heh yes, I am sitting here in my lair concocting my plans. I already have verbal agreement with one friend to watch it next movie night. Our other friend tried to rescue her but I will prevail! Sometime in November Reena and Michelle will come watch. They now know I mark important events like this on lj.

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yours is an evil laugh.

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Evil like Mr. Burns?

Eeeeeeeeeeehxcellent!

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
ROFL, no....but now you've given her the idea! :D

I made fun of that movie for YEARS, until my friend Michelle asked me what my problem was (because she loves it). I finally had to admit that I'd never seen it but just liked to make fun of it, so she sat me down and made me watch it. I normally hate musicals - I couldn't even get through the first song in Moulin Rouge because it was a stupid Nirvana cover (and man, I just do NOT like listening to Ewan sing), but I LOVED this one. It's just a wonderful movie! So are you going to watch it this weekend? LOL :D

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no. You mentioned disliking Ewan singing to the wrong person. Notice her username... ;)

I freaking love Moulin Rouge!

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Hah! Did not see this before I replied. Heh. I totally had a moment of, "Oh no she didn't!

Word to the Moulin Rouge.

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
ROFL It's all good. I've got my flak jacket on! ;)

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 07:30 am (UTC)(link)

Erm. You do realize my username, right? Probably not the best choice of words to convince me of anything. ;)

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL yeah I saw your username, but was thinking more along the lines of "Trainspotting" when I read it.
I hate Nirvana far more than my minimal dislike of Ewan's singing.
Ewan was *wonderful* in The Pillow Book, though. ;)

[identity profile] ewanspotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-20 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Wonderfully naked. A lot. Meaning the whole movie.

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-20 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
*beams* I know! *waggling brows* He is NICELY endowed. *salivates*

[identity profile] jmp0114.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I used to be on the "other side." I don't want to go back. It was more like the Dark Side... lol!

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm almost 31. It's about time for something to happen to me.

Crap, I'm almost 31.

[identity profile] jmp0114.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Be careful what you wish for!

I'm 34... It's wonderful, we have so much ahead of us.

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, so much ahead. Hopefully more than just years of long teaching days then going home exhausted.

What if I wish for good things?

[identity profile] jmp0114.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Your right, we all need more than just teaching and exhaustion. It is easy to make that our entire focus during the school year. I am only in my second year of teaching so I am still in that learning mode and consumed with how to balance everything… it is exhausting.

Of course you are wishing for good things, we always do. We don’t wish for bad things in our lives. I’m just saying that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

My personal belief is that the Lord has a plan. He may have someone special for each of us. Perhaps he is not done molding you, me, or our special someone’s. One day the time will be right and we will be so glad that we waited for that person. And when we committed to them, don’t you hope that you look back on the time that you were single and took advantage of that freedom.

It seems like you are adventurous, but you are just in a mood right now… is that right?

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Adventurous? I don't know. I guess I'm adventuroius in a travel-sort of way. I'm not chicken, but I don't really throw myself into situations either.

I'm in my 4th year teaching, and I'm still learning how to balance everything. My current mode is to procrastinate. That said, I have to finish my lesson plans after 2 weeks off.

[identity profile] jmp0114.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I can relate to procrastination… and your icon! LOVE IT!!!! SOOOOO ME!

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh steal the icon, I got it from someone else.

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm almost 33. ACK!

[identity profile] mashena.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
I have my days where I love it and days where I hate it. The latter really stink.

[identity profile] roseleaf.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not gonna lie, I love not being single (and still keeping an eye out for someone so that you can move out of state and sub :-) ) BUT being single is infinitely preferable to being in a relationship with the wrong person. It's worth the wait.

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
AMEN!!!

[identity profile] bowiechaser.livejournal.com 2008-10-17 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. Every once in a while, that feeling just hits like a ton of bricks. *HUGS*
