I LOVE IT!

I'm all a gushing, blubbering mess! Ok, I'm not crying, really I'm not, but I do like it!

*squee* Ahh! I'm SO happy to hear that! XD
You just made my day.

Dangit, all *I* want for Christmas is Mr. Darcy! One all of my own!

I almost don't want to see the 1995 version, because I love Mr. Darcy in this one, but a friend told me she loves the other version/Mr. Darcy too (and I can't remember the actor in that one).

I've now watched twice, plus the ending 2 additional times. I would get the book on CD to listen to on my long drive to/from CA but it's not worth $40.

lol :D

Yes! I went through the same thing with seeing the '95 version. It has its good points the new one doesn't have but, as far as which Darcy I like best, it's definitley the '05 all the way (but I'm asking for the '95 DVD for Christmas, if that says anything ;)).
It really just comes down to if you think seeing another Darcy will ruin it for you. In my opinion Colin Firth ('95 Darcy) plays it a bit dry and on the mean side. Hold out to the second disc if you do watch it because it gets better.

Oops! In all my excitement I forgot to spell check lol >_

Hee hee I didn't even notice (and this is LJ, so who cares?).

I'm giggling at the icon. I must see the '95 version now! My sister has the book, so I'll probably finish it while I'm visiting. I read a bunch last night, she has the tiny sized book that's 450 pages long, and I read 63 so far.

you have to watch the longer version - I saw that first, and while the movie is good, it's different.

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2006-12-24 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'll be sure to watch it. I just have to finish the book first (I'm half done).

the 95 version with Colin Firth is much more like the book than the Keira Knightley version.

Put it this way - I love both Mr Darcys, even though Colin Firth was the one I feel in love with first, via the first time I watched that series.

I was at the bookstore earlier today, and saw the box set of the '95 version for $60, which I'm not about to pay. I'll rent it instead. I normally like to read books before seeing movie versions, but I don't think I could have gotten through the book without having seen the '05 movie first. I need the picture and the general plot to help me get past the language.

Also at the bookstore was some book called Jane Austen Miscelleny. I flipped through it and read that there's some book people wrote about "lost sex scenes" including ones involving Mr. Collins, and I LOLed in the store at that. Mr. Collins is simply awful!

[identity profile] jorghes.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
now that's just gross - althought the 95 Mr Collins is worse than the 05 one. You have to see it to believe it.

Hi, I stumbled upon your LJ I think via the post where the awesome P&P mood theme came from. A friend of mine told me to see P&P on New Year's Day and I'm addicted to it, to say the least. :D

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2007-01-14 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Addicted, obsessed, in love, all of the above :) Fabulous icon you have there! I'm at the point where I don't have to watch part of it everyday, but most days I still want to.

[identity profile] xstillwaiting.livejournal.com 2007-01-15 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks; I couldn't stop replaying the movie during that part! I've been busy looking for P&P icons to save so that I can actually add them when I have more room in my userpics. :)

I had borrowed a copy from a friend so I had been watching that at least every-other day, if not more. If I wasn't watching it then I was thinking about it in some way, lol. I finally was able to go and get my own copy today, so I'm extremely happy. I saw the BBC version at the store too, but like I read in one of your other comments, I too am hesitant to let another Mr. Darcy in. I like this one way too much right now, but I think in due time I'll get around to watching Colin Firth's interpretation.

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2007-01-15 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I was staying at my mom's house, without my dvd (which I'd watched 2.5 times) when I started going crazy looking for icons. Thank goodness for Photobucket! If not for that, I would have had to wait a week before I could save icons. I'm really tempted to upload more P&P icons as it is, but I'll hold back.

So yeah, read the book in 3 days, finally got home and watched the movie every day for a week, sometimes twice a day. I've calmed down, and work is my distraction from watching, but I have the soundtrack in my car. I can picture most scenes when I hear the music. I will watch the BBC version, I just don't know when. I'm not worried about Colin's Darcy; I really want to see Mr. Collins in that version.

[identity profile] xstillwaiting.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
I've calmed down a bit as well, though I'm still playing the soundtrack on loop; I love what music can do for a film, and make you feel like you're watching it all over again.

I really want to see Mr. Collins in that version.
I can't even begin to imagine how that character will be portrayed, lol. And I'm pretty sure that I'll end up liking Firth's Darcy too. I think I just need Matthew's Darcy to reign for me for a little while. :)

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
The soundtrack is in my car, I tend to play it when I'm stressed out. I can pretty much picture the movie when I hear the music.

I read something about Colin Firth in a wet shirt. I can't think of what scene that would be, but apparently it makes the fangirls happy.

[identity profile] xstillwaiting.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, for some reason I have that image in my head. I think it's either because I've seen icons of that are it's just not that hard to imagine. Maybe he was wet from rain at some point? Now I'm curious...
