Friday Five

1) What is your favourite food?
I most often crave things of the Mexican persuasion, anything from fake (Taco Bell) to authentic (my favorite restaurant downtown).

2) What is your favourite food preparation method?
The one with the least effort. Recipes that take longer are usually worth it, taste wise, but I just hate all the chopping, sauteeing, and many many steps it needs to get there.

3) What is your favourite cuisine or style of cooking?
Mexican and Italian

4) Do you have any dietary restrictions and if so what are they?
No restrictions.

5) If you could introduce the whole world to one ingredient to improve their culinary experience, what would that be and why?
Cumin was my first thought, but it's not really uncommon.

Funny - I picked cumin too.

It's such an amazing ingredient!

My current magic ingredient is silan (date honey). I bought some for a recipe for tahini-glazed roasted carrots and they are so good.

I dislike dates, but for some reason this intrigues me. I may recommend it to a friend who has a lot of food restrictions, including refined sugar.

I don't think I've ever really had Mexican food. We don't have any restaurants near where I live.

Ohhhhhhhh I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. If you try it, you might love it and then not be able to have it often.

I feel ya on ANYTHING Mexican including Taco Bell haha. Ever had "birria tacos?"

I have not. In fact I had to look up what birria is. Lamb would be tasty!
