*flail and huge grin*

It's not perfect, but I still can't wait. The first (of only two, I swear) time I watched I had a huge grin halfway through it. One rather dull line kind of ruined it, but the rest looks great.

Really?! Really! *dances* I had no idea they were making a new movie! :D Hey, that's the girl who played Alice in the new Alice in Wonderland. I think she'll make a good Jane :)

But I still need to see the old version you told me about ages ago!

YES YOU DO!!! You must buy it or Netflix it this instant! (Srsly, it's fantastic)

I haven't seen Alice, but she seems good in the trailer.

Hmm hmm hmm. I can't help it. No matter how amazing it looks, I can't imagine it being as good as our beloved version. Her delivery of the poor, plain, obscure and little speech pales in comparison to Ruth W.'s. BUT I'll try not to form an opinion too early. That scene could have a completely different tone, I suppose...

I do like how young Jane looks and how not so handsome Rochester is, though I'm sure by the end I'll be swooning over him anyway.

I'm pleased it's from Focus Features. They have a very good track record.

Focus Features gave us P&P, so I can't help but like them. Their P&P is so much more emotional than the BBC version, so it's almost a different story. I wonder how much more dramatic you can make JE, though some people commented that it looks more gothic than other versions.

-Jane looks great
-Hooray for less attractive Rochester (but still pleasing to the eye)

Like I said before, as long as it doesn't suck, I think I'll be happy. P&P worked as a 2 hour film, so I hope JE does as well.

WHAT WHY ARE THERE SUPERNATURAL THINGS HAPPENING IN THIS AND WHY AM I SO INTRIGUED?!

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-11-11 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
BECAUSE THERE IS A BIT OF SUPERNATURAL IN IT (JUST A SMALL BIT) AND IT IS A FANTASTIC BOOK AND YOU MUST EITHER READ IT OR WATCH THE 2006 MINISERIES, OR THIS UPCOMING MOVIE.

There's no ghost-hunting or vampires or anything. Comments I have read mentioned they are playing up the gothic themes a little more in this version than others.

If anything, see it because I love it and you love me? :D

Pft. I have read it, missy.

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2010-11-12 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
D'oh. My bad.

I think I knew that already.

So, watch miniseries now? :D

I make no promises.

But I will see that movie.

WOOT!
