Many days, no post

Let's see...Gimli, my oldest betta, died last Saturday. He was over 3 yars old, and the first betta I got after moving to AZ. I made it until Monday before getting a new one. He's a blue-green crowntail, still on the small side. He's also still nameless, though I almost called him Vincent after seeing Vincent the dog on Lost. No name is really sticking to this betta yet, though I've considered Daniel Vincent, Fredrick, or maybe Thornton. I must keep up the tradition of fandom names. SO far I've used LOTR, Lost, and period films.

I need to pay the utility bill, but I have to get stamps.

I need coffee.

Later on, I'm going to play Rock Band at a friend's house.

14 days of school left, and much work left to do. Argh.

I'm too lazy to explain much this morning.

Aw, I'm sorry about Gimli ♥

Have you played Rock Band before? It's so fun. I play the drums :P

I played drums and sang last time. I think I'll try the guitar this time.

Names! Need betta names! :)

okay names...

Mr. Bingley, Mr. Knightley, Captain Wentworth, have you had a Gandalf yet?

[identity profile] ringsandcoffee.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
No Gandalf yet. If I'd watched LOTR recently I might pick a name from it.

I'm stuck on Frederick or Henry (Tilney) at the moment.

I'm amused by naming a fish Frederick. A fish being responsible for a Navy mutiny? lol :P

Well, Wentworth's name is also Frederick, and he's a captain! He also had some personal issues to work through...

I watched 1995 Persuasion last Friday. I needed an Austen movie fix.

Oh. Too many Freds lol.

I guess you like your fish to be boys, but just to throw it out there: Dori from Finding Nemo? since the fish is blue?
She'll make all the other fish laugh :P

I know the feeling

They are all male bettas. I could get female bettas but the males generally have better colors. So, the boy names.

I like Vincent or Thornton

I like Thornton myself.

We are on our second betta. The first one lived more than three years, too. His name was simply "Fishy." I tried to name him Shalom or Scholar, but the Small One overruled me. lol.

This new betta is named Rainbow Fish. Sigh. Perhaps when the Small One starts reading more, she'll get more creative with pet names.

Names usually jump out at me soon after I get the fish but this time I'm stuck.

My cat growing up was originally named Mittens, but we changed it to Kitty because it was easier to call him that name. My old roommate's cat is named Kitten. He's about 10 now.
