Friday Five - vacations

Good thing [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive posted questions a day early so I can get to answering them.

1. What was your favorite childhood vacation?
Going to Lake Tahoe for a week in the summers. We stayed at a house near the Keys, and brought bikes to ride. For some reason, I liked making mud pies in the back yard. I NEVER did that at home. However, going to Pope Beach was the best. Oh, and souvenir shopping by Stateline, and walking through the casinos. Most of the shops are gone now, but a few still hang on. There are new ones, but it's not the same.

2. What is your dream vacation?
Road trip around the country. No time limit, and no shortage of money. I could go where I want, when I want. Preferably with a friend. I'd hop across the Canadian border, too.

3. If you could take a trip around the world, what locations would you be sure to include?
Alaska, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Panama, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Ireland, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, Israel, India, Vietnam, China, Thailand, Japan, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Guam, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa.

4. Do you prefer vacations to new destinations, to familiar destinations, or a mix?
A mix. I love seeing new places, but I want to go to old favorites too.

5. What activities would you plan for a two week staycation?
Realistically, I'd veg at home. But, I've wanted to stay at Hotel Valley Ho for ages. So maybe a few days there. Maybe do a few day trips.

Exploring the many amazing sights of Japan, and going back to England to visit relatives.

3. If you could take a trip around the world, what locations would you be sure to include?
Japan, France, Britain again, Scotland and Ireland, Wales again, and Germany.

4. Do you prefer vacations to new destinations, to familiar destinations, or a mix?
A mix. I'd love to revisit some countries, but there are places I would dearly love to see.

Do some much needed rest and relaxation

II think 2 weeks staycation would be a very lazy time for me as well - just like the 4 days I'm having right now! *lol*

Nothing quite like the freedom of a roadtrip!
