ringsandcoffee | A happy post!

I happened to see my old manager, Matt, driving around town yesterday, and tried to chase him down but lost him in traffic. Since I had not seen him in months, I took a chance and drove 40 minutes to his current store. Fortunately, he was working, and the DM (who remembered my name!) was there too. It was so fantastic to see Matt in the first place, since he was not only a boss, but a friend too. He was working bar, and it was so much fun to watch him interact with customers and the baristas. He cracks jokes, has conversations, and keeps things upbeat. I just sat there with a smile on my face, remembering how much fun working for him had been. Even when he occasionally drove me crazy or screwed up the schedule, I'd still work for him over anyone else.

Matt was also a fellow LOTR geek. I told him I miss having him to talk to. Very few people can I display my geekdom/excitement around.

My dad called while I was out, and I ended up spending the day with him. Hooray for actually having a day off! I needed that.
