Since I'm currently obsessed with the New York City Ballet, it opened my eyes to how much lack of diversity there still is in elite ballet companies. Misty Copeland is with American Ballet Theater, also in NYC. It's sad to see hugely talented dancers stay in the lower ranks while white dancers get promoted. So, there is that aspect. On the other hand, I love seeing what it's really like to be a dancer - the injuries, the frustrations, day to day life, etc.
