What has the world come to when someone goes on a hunger strike in protest of an American Idol contestant?

I knew I should have included a link. I saw a story about some girl on myspace (or maybe posting youtube videos) who went on a hunger strike to get Sanjaya off American Idol. She gave up after 16 days.

Come on, is there nothing more important in life than that?
