Hello folks!
I am alive, and on fall break! This past week were teacher conferences. I didn't have to attend any, but still had to be at work until 4. Wasn't too bad, as I tried to keep busy as much as possible. Even at this school, we still have some students and families that make teachers go o_O?!? Like, how can you BE that way?? That, along with some training we had at the teacher work day yesterday, reaffirmed that I do not want my own classroom again. The training was on something we used in my old district, and a big part of why I left. I failed at completely biting my tongue, but at least other veteran teachers agreed with me that what we were doing was ridiculous.
Making banana bread right now, which will go with me to a friend's house tonight. We are finishing up LOTR finally by watching Return of the King.
Had to ask my mother for money in anticipation of not being paid for a week. It's a short term solution, but at Christmas break, I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess with the holidays approaching, I can look for a retail job for a few hours a week. That might mean I can't go home for Christmas however. I won't leave the charter school before the end of this year unless I absolutely have to, since the sped teacher needs me, but I don't know how anyone works this job for so little money.
