I still miss LOST. The videos with Jacob and MIB a few posts down still crack me up. When bored, I look up other videos on YouTube. Man, maybe I should start going to Comic Cons.

My brain still thinks about work, and wonders why the boss didn't give us the AIMS results. Eh, must think about other, more exciting things, such as CHICAGO!

Or...since I just sat here about 30 seconds with a blank stare, maybe I don't need to think at all. Eating would be good though.

I tried to watch P&P on my laptop laying in bed last night, but only got up to the Netherfield ball before deciding I was too tired. Will continue tonight.

Boboli pizza with real, shredded by me, Precious brand mozzerella, was heavenly. Tossed some zucchini on it as well, but the cheese made it wonderful. Foods from childhood, such as the mozzerella or broccoli with mayonnaise, always taste incredible.

Don't hate on the broccoli and mayo, y'all. It's good!

It's cool that people exist who you know you can't trust. It's the ones who start to earn your trust/seem okay, only to turn slimy again, that bug me.

Intentionally cryptic FTW! (The above does not refer to anyone privy to my LJ)

I think my hot water heater isn't heating water. My shower may be chilly again tonight.

I've now watched all the 2009 "Totally LOST" videos on EW.com, and maybe half of 2010, though out of order. Upon exploring the tabs, I see there's enough videos to keep me busy for at least a week! Woot! My LOST void is less voidy. Voidfull. Voidish.

Damon Lindelof either has awesome pecs or moobs. I couldn't tell which.

Two weeks ago, I watched the last Tuesday night episode. Yeah, you could say I miss my favorite show just a little. I'm on the lookout for a Jack/Kate icon from the finale. One that really grabs me. It might just become my new default, if the Richard/Isabella one doesn't. Looking through my icons folder, I could fill a lot of space with LOST icons, but I won't. I have 121 of 124 spaces used already.

In two weeks I'll be in Chicago! YAY!
ringsandcoffee: (LOST buzz kill)
I thought the LOST finale was on tomorrow, not tonight. So, I caught the last 5 minutes of it. Aaaaaaaannnnnd I cried. Yes, with tears and choked sobs.

Shut up. It's not just for LOST; I cry over plenty of movies, no matter how many times I've seen them.

Thankfully, Jimmy Kimmel was shown again as well, and his audience was watching the finale too. They were crying as well. One guy had a jear tear running down his cheek. I might have to dig up the Q&A session with the cast on Hulu.

To fill the void, I've been rewatching "Totally Lost" videos below all week. I discovered them accidently and now will go back and watch all of them.

ringsandcoffee: (LOST Richard Isabella)
Finally, my reaction to LOST. I've been filling the void by reading articles and watching "Totally Lost" videos on YouTube. Last night, it was just a little odd not having the tv on, as well as going to bed at a reasonable hour. No afterparty comments to read, nothing to be confused about.
cut for anyone who might not have seen it yet )

Dear LOST,

I don't want you to end tomorrow, but on the other hand, I do. I would like my brain back! Last night I was dreaming about you. My worry is that The End will be so mind-blowing that I may not get my brain back for a few weeks. This is not good, since I still have to go to work.

Your faithful fan since 2004,

Dear LJ,

Please to be adding the mood "flailing" to the choices. Thank you.

In need of more specific moods,

Sure enough, the period of relaxation at work (i.e. after AIMS) came to an abrupt halt on Wednesday. The district is being audited by the state the last week and a half of school. Audited...at the very end of the year. Random strangers, who may or may not have ever been competent educators, will be coming in unannounced, staying for unspecified periods of time, and will be making sure we're "teaching." Checking if we're adhering to the standards, doing actual instruction, as opposed to busy work, I guess? AT THE END OF THE FREAKING SCHOOL YEAR. Can't clean up, can't take stuff off the walls, nada.

It's not as if I'm taking things easy and no longer teaching, tempting as that is at times. But, seriously? Whose bright idea was this? Half my kids have tuned out as it is.

I need a massage and a pedicure.

Sunday is the LOST series finale. It's...the end. (LOL episode title. No one will get that joke/reference unless they read [livejournal.com profile] ack_attack's recaps) I can't believe it's going to end, and I'm sad. Not majorly depressed, but still. A fandom is ending, what am I to watch on tv now? At least there's a plethora of period dramas I've yet to see. LOST is truly one of the best tv shows ever. It will be so weird after Sunday, when it's no more.

Need some dinner.

Temporarily changed my default icon in honor of LOST ending soon. Sniff :(

[livejournal.com profile] larksong reminded me of going to camp as a kid. First was daycamp at Melrose Baptist Church in Oakland. How we ended up going, I have no idea, since it was 45 minutes away from home. Still, I loved it. Bible lessons, swimming, hikes, swimming, crafts, and did I mention swimming? In a pool, not a pond. That was during elementary school summers. In jr. hihg and high school, it was a week at Hume Lake. Gather early Sunday morning, mill around the buses for 2 hours, finally get them packed, then drive 6 hours. Bus problems were the norm, and were actually a fun, if not semi-expected part of the journey. At camp, we had speakers for the week, games, team competitions, rotating shifts setting up and serving at meals, hoping to hear your name during mail call, Victory Circle, rejoicing when you got the cabin with a bathroom even if it was at the top of the hill, swimming, canoeing, the Cove, the bike jump, the store, eating tons of junk food...

Everyone should experience camp in their lives, says I.

Not sure how I feel about Suliet, though I saw it coming. Surprised by the number of Suliet fans out there.

So much for my plan of doing a little work tonight.

How can I still be tired even after getting a latte on the way home? (The Human Bean is pretty good, I must say)

Did I have to be told things a million times when I was in 4th grade?

Is it strange that I was shocked when a student asked me how I knew the answers to a vocabulary activity without having to look them up?

I forgot what I was going to say.

Hi everyone!

Happy birthday a day early, [livejournal.com profile] ewanspotter! *squishles* Keep on being the awesome other Becky, and keep on keepin' on.

I want more chocolate.

Having Hershey's Kisses in my classroom is bad.

I finished reading all my online stuff, and have refreshed flist and Facebook a few times. Maybe I should go read P&P. Or grade math tests. Hmmm.

Last night I got home late and really didn't want to iron pants for today. So, I shaved instead so I could wear a skirt. Temperature is getting into the 80s again, yikes. I wore my new denim skirt, black button down sweater over a pink cami, and black heels with a Mary Jane-ish strap. I must have been looking frumpy lately, though I wore either black or khaki pants and a sweater all winter, because my students were shocked at how I was dressed. It's like they never saw me in heels or a skirt before! I reminded them that I wore the same type of outfits in the fall, but they couldn't remember. Silly kids. Maybe I'll wear a skirt tomorrow too.

A student today mumbled a line from "Eye of the Tiger" and it made me giggle. See my icon for the reason why (or my youtube tag for the video)

I love broccoli and cauliflower with parmesean and pizza seasoning.

Lost is on in half hour! YAY!

Bought LOST season 2 at Costco. It was only $38, I couldn't pass that up. Forget the fact that I haven't even watched my S1 dvds, but another teacher did and got addicted to the show, so yay. I'll have to watch the 8 hours of bonus stuff at some point. I don't even know what it is, could be extra scenes in every ep. Maybe I should open the box.

EDIT: They're coming out with LOST action figures!!! SWEET!!!!! Jack, Kate, Hurley, Locke, Charlie and Shannon, plus "The Hatch" deluxe boxed set.

Geek post!

Thanks to the heads-up from [livejournal.com profile] holbytla a few weeks back, I just preordered the Lord of the Rings limited edition theatrical/extended edition all in one thingie. LOL I don't know what to call it! www.lordoftherings.net has a link describing it. Yeah, so I have 5 of the 6 already (only missing FOTR theatrical) but dude, who can argue with me here? As I'm on Amazon, they of course show me the Star Wars original trilogy old/new all in one dvds. Might wait on that, or just get it at Target when it comes out in September.

Oh yeah, LOST season 2 comes out in September!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] annebloom188 I'm listening to Josh Groban again.

I have work to do, but here I am procrastinating again. :)

*I went to Chipotle for dinner. Yum.

* I bought LOST season 1 on dvd!!! I have no time to even watch any of the bonus features, but at least I own it! WOOT!

*mmm, Snickers bar.
